Host
Your host for the evening is Emmy-Award-winning actor Bradley Whitford, star of TV’s The West Wing and The Mentalist.
“My grandmother had breast cancer, and I have lost dear friends and relatives to the disease. I know many people who received what seemed like devastating diagnoses at the time, now they are thriving and have been declared cancer free. Cancer won’t be solved in a moment. I don’t want to be an enabler of mindless optimism. But I do want to support the hard work of hope and real progress.”
Bradley started his professional acting career on the New York stage. He then moved to film, with roles in Awakenings, Robocop 3, Philadelphia, Billy Madison, Kate and Leopold, and many others. On TV Bradley starred in The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and The Good Guys; guest roles included ER, The Equalizer, NYPD Blue, X-Files, and most recently The Mentalist.
During his first four years in The West Wing, Bradley has earned three Golden Globe Nominations and three Emmy Nominations in Supporting Actor categories. He won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2001.
